Govind Narayan Singh was origjnally
a Congress leader and in 1967, he reached the
Vidhan Sabha from the Congress ticket. Vijaya Raje
Scindia and Brijlal Sharma With the help of Govind
Narayan Singh, split the congress party. Govind
Narayan Singh formed a ney party as Seva DaL
Rajmata Vijaya Raje formed a separate party named
as Jankranti. Alongwith these two parties, the Jana
Sangh, Left and Samajwadi formed an alliance,
Samyukta Vidhayak Dal(Sanvid Sarkar). This
allaince formed the Government with Its Chief
Minister Shri Govind Narayan Singh. This way
Shri Govind Narayan Singh bacame the first non-
Congress Chief Minister.
