Under Articles 356 and 365 of the
constitution, President Rule has been imposed in 27
states and 2 union territories so far in the country
due to and other reasons. However, not a
single president Rule has been imposed in
Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
President Rule in India was first imposed in Punjab
in 1951.
Maximum number of President rules so far (10
times) in Manipur and Uttar Pradesh.
Before 1st Nov. 2000, there was the President Rule
in Chhattisgarh (undivided MP).
