The National Award for Best Direction in
the field of Cinema, Screenplay for Acting Arts of Song
writing was instituted in the Year 1997 in honour of M.P.’s
noted singer artist and musician late Kishore Kumar. The
1st Kishore Kumar Award was given to the famous director
Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
