The main dialects of M. P. are;
1. Braj Bhasha : Basically spoken in Brij territory
(Mathura) of U .P. This dialect is also spoken in Gwalior
Morena, Bhind, Sheopur in M.P.
2. Bundeli : The influence of this dialect can be
experienced in Bundelkhand and also in the southern
part of M.P. extended to Maharashtra. Pure form of
this dialect is widely spoken in Niwari, Tikamgarh,
Sagar, Narsinghpur aand Panna districts of M.P. and
its subdialects are prevalent in different areas such
as Panwari in Gwalior, Datia, Lodhanti in Hamirpur,
Khatola in Panna, Chhatarpur, Damoh districts. Their
are some mixed Bundeli dialects too like Banafari,
Kundri, Nibhatta, Bhadavari and Koshti.
3. Malvi : Purest form of this language is mainly spoken
in Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Dhar, Ratlam districts of M.P.
Some of its varients also being practised in Bhopal,
Narmadapuram, Neemuch, Guna and Mandsaur
districts.
4. Bhili :It is a dialect of Bhili Tribe of who resides in
Jhabua, West Nimar, Dhar and Ratlam districts of M.P.
5. Nimari :It is the widely spoken dialect of Nimar
territory i.e. Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur, Barwani
districts of M.P.
6. Korvi :It is spoken in Laharkhand (Bhind),
Bhanderkhand (Datia), Jalon (U.P.).
7. Bagheli : This dialect is prevalent in Rewa, Satna,
Sidhi and Singrauli dists. of M.P. It is mixed form is
spoken in Tribal region of Mandla.
8. Gondi : This dialect is spoken by the Gond and it’s
subtribes in Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Mandla and
Dindori.
