Gwalior Fort is known as the”Gem of Forts”.
It is also known as the “Gibraltar of the East”. It was built
by King Surajsen in the memory of Rishi Galav in 500
A.D. It is situated on the Gopachal Parvat. 5 door-Alamgir
door, Gujari Fort door, Hindola Door, Chaturbhuj temple
door, Hathifod Door are here. Dhar Fort was built by
Muhammad Tughlaq in 1344. Mother Goddess Kalka
Temple, Kharbuja Temple, Mausoleum of Abdul-Shal-
Changej are situated inside the fort. Raisen Fort was built
by Raja Rajbasanti in the 16th century. Badal Mahal , Raja
Rohit Mahal and Itradar Mahal are situated here. Orchha
Fort was built by Raja Veer Singh Dev Bundela in the 16t
century. It is situated on the banks of Betwa river. It
reflects the story of valour of Bundela Kings ofOrchha.
It is situated near Jhansi. Ram Mandir, Lakshmi Narayan
Mandir etc are here.
