Teenagers should see a doctor if they experience warning signs like difficulty breathing or chest pain, a fever lasting more than 3–4 days or over 103°F (39.4°C), signs of dehydration (like severe dizziness or dark, sparse urine), confusion or extreme lethargy, or symptoms that improve but then suddenly worsen with a high fever and cough.
