Turra-kalangi is a folk dance of Chanderi
and near by area which is played in night. Hindu sant
Tukhagir and muslim sant Shahrali were the devotees of
Shiva and shakti respectively. The chanderi king offered
both of them a “Turra’t and “Kalangi” of his crown
respectively.
Note : Kalangi turra is a folk dance of Nimar, which seems
to have some connection with this folk drama “Turra
Kalangi”
