Tansen-
Born                  :             In 1506
Place                  :            Behath village of Gwalior
Original name  :            Ramtanu Pandey.
He was given the title of ‘Tansen’ by King
Ramchandra, whereas gave him the title of Mia’.
Swami Haridas was the first teacher who taught him
music, later on Karan and Mohammad Gause also
taught him music.
• He had been among the 9 gems (Navratna) of King
Akbar. When Tansen was in the court of Maharaja
Ramchandra, the king of Rewa, he had come in contact
of Akbar through Jalalkhan and Akbar offered him to
be the court poet of mughals.
• Though Tansen was expert in all 7 Ragas, he was
inheritable in Raag Bhairavi, Raag Malhar, Raag
Darbari, Raag  Deepak.
• He died in 1585 in Agra and his tomb was placed near
to the tomb of Mohammad Gaus as per his wish.
