set up in 2020.
State NITI and Planning Commission
• MP Govt. formed State NITI and Planning Ayog in
2020, following Central ‘s line on planning concept.
•  State NITI and Planning Commission has replaced
the previous “State Planning Commission” which
was set up on 24th Oct, 1972 as a State Planning
Board (in 2007 was renamed as State Planning Commission).
Structure of State NITI and Planning Commission
•  Chairman : CM by virtue of the post.
•  Deputy Chairman : 03
(a) One is appointed by CM.
(b) Rest 2 Deputy Chairman are the ministers of
Finance Dept. and Planning Dept. of State.
•  Members : 6 other members, out of which;
(a) 3 members to be appointed by CM.
(b) 3 members will be the Chief Secretary,
Principal Secretary of Finance Dept.
and Principal Secretary of Planning Dept.
Major Functions
• To formulate the long term action plans for the all
Programmes, Schemes, Projects which involves the
co-ordination of various State Departments.
•  To examine the existing and current policies of all
departments and to render the suggestions of
changes and reforms in them.
