Shakkar River is the major tributary
of Narmada. Shakkar originates near Amarwada
tehsil in Chhindwara dist. of M.P. and flows from
the Satpura coalfields and joins the Narmada River
on the left in the north.
Note : The ancient Sanganeshwar Mahadev Temple
is located at the confluence of the Narmada and the
Shakkar rivers in Narshingpur dist.
