“Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana”
was launched in M.P. on 19th April, 2012 with journey to
Rameshwaram.
The State Government will extend one-time assistance
in lifetime to senior citizens above 60 years of age to
visit to prescribed pilgrimage outside the state.
Eligibility
Pilgrim must be over 60 years of age and a domicile of
M.P.
He must not be a tax payer and should not have taken
benefit of Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana
earlier.
Pilgrim should be physically and mentally sound to
undertake the journey and should not be suffering
from any communicable disease like T B, difficulty in
breathing, heart disease, leprosy etc.
Salient Features
i Pilgrim will be sent under IRCTS (Railway) pack age.
Under this scheme, an attendant can also accompany
the pilgrims above 65 years of age. If one of the spouse
is selected, his or her life partner can also go on
pilgrimage. The life partner can under take pilgrimage
even if he or she is less than 60 years of age.
If senior citizens submit application in a group, then
the entire group will be regarded as one application
and selected in lottery. One group can consist of
maximum 25 applicants including attendants.
Selection of pilgrims will be made by the Collector.
