In 1956, the entire Madhya Pradesh
was divided into 5 Police Ranges- Gwalior, Indore,
Rewa, Jabalpur and Raipur The IGP was the highest
police officer of the state. At present, Madhya
Pradesh has 11 IG Ranges, 15 DIG Ranges and 52
Dist. Police Headquarters.
