M.P. is divided into 5 Agricultural Zones
by Dept. of Agriculture as follows-
1. West Malwa Region of Black soil : Mandsaur,
Neemuch, Ratlam, Jhabua, Barwani, Harda, Dhar,
Dewas, Ujjain, Shajapur, Agra, Indore, Khandwa,
Khargone etc are the regions of Sorghum (Jowar),
Cotton and Soyabean.
2. North Region of Sorghum (Jowar) and Wheat :
Morena, Shajapur, Bhind, Gwalior, Datia, Shivpuri,
Guna, Chhatarpur, Niwari and Tikamgarh dists. Also
other regions of Chhindwara and Betul dists.
3. Central Region of Wheat : It includes Bhopal, Sehore,
Hoshangabad, Narsinghpur, Raisen, Vidisha, Sagar
and Damoh dists.
4. Regions of Paddy and Wheat : It includes Panna,
Satna, Katni, Umaria, Jabalpur and up to north belt of
Seoni dist.
5. East M.P. (Region of Paddy) : It includes Rewa, Sidhi,
Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, Balaghat etc.
