For the second time, President Rule
in M.P. was in force during the Sixth and Seventh
Vidhan Sabha from 17th February, 1980 to 9th June,
1980. In Lok Sabha elections of the Year 1980,
Congress got a huge success in the states of M.P.,
Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh,
etc., The Indira Gandhi government suspended these
Janata Party-Ruled state governments on 17th
February, 1980 and imposed President Rule.
