Satpura-Maikal Range acts as a
floodgates between the Narmada-Son Valley and the
Deccan Plateau in M.P. The Tapti and Wainganga
originate from the southern slope of the Satpura-
Maikal- Range and the Son, Narmada and Johila
rivers originate from the north-eastern slope, which
are the main rivers in the state.
