Under Article 356, presidential rule
has been applied in Madhya Pradesh three times.
1. The first President rule – On 30th April, 1977 to
23rd June, 1977.
Governor – Satyanarayan Sinha
Chief Minister – Shyamacharan Shukla
2. The second President rule -18th February, 1980
to 9th June, 1980.
Governor – Shri H.S. Punacha
Chief Minister – Sundarlal Patwa
3. The third President rule – 15th December; 1992 to
6th December, 1993
Governor – Kunwar Mahmood Ali Khan
Chief Minister – Sundarlal Patwa.
