Gayan is traditionally a song
performed in Baghelkhand. Their singers are known as
Harbole. They are also known as Sharman singers as
they tell the story of Shravan Kumar. They wear yellow
clothes, hold statue of Lord Krishna and sing with Chutki,
Paijar and Sarangi. They generally sing Ramayan Katha,
Mor Dhwaj, Gop Chand, Bharthari, Bhole Baba etc.
