First Five Year Plan was launched in entire
India including M.P. on 1stApril, 1951.
On 8tht Dec., 1951, the Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru
presented the First Five Year Plan of India. Formal
commencement of this Plan is considered to be 8tht Dec.,
1951 and working of the scheme is considered to be 1st
April, 1951.
First Five Year Plan focused mainly on Agriculture and
Community Development. Education, Irrigation and
Electricity were also the key areas but not industries.
(All 4-different regions of the state had different plans
under this.)
