In Dhar district of M.P., a 6.5 million-Year-
Old breeding site of dinosaurs, which was extinct millions
of Year ago has been discovered by a group of
researchers. It is noteworthy that National Dinosaur
Fossil Park is being established in Dhar for conservation
of dinosaur eggs and fossils in 2010 in dist. Dhar which
is State’s second fossil National Park.
• Narmada Valley : Ex-Dinosaur habitat region.
1. Dinosaur eggs are found in large number in the area. A
fossil of Dinosaur as old as 65 million years is found and
protected in the National Park.
2. Dinosaur Fossil near Jabalpur : In the Year 1828, Sir
William Henry Sleeman collected dinosaur fossils from
the cantonment area of Jabalpur. In addition, in 1982,
Ashok Sahni also collected fossils of dinosaur eggs from
Jabalpur.
In the Year 1988, Dr. Shankar Chattis obtained dinosaur
fossils and skeletons from Shimla hill and the hill of
Supaatal of Jabalpur.
3. Rajasaurus is a species of non-vegeterian dinosaur
Its fossils were obtained by Shri Suresh Srivastava( An
archaeologist of Geological Survey Of India) in the Year
1982-84.
4. Some fossils of a new species of dinosaur were also
discovered from Raholi (Mahsagar district,Gujarat)’ in
Narmada Valley region.
