C.K. Naidu was the first captain of the
Indian cricket team in Test matches. His full name was
Cottari Kanakaiya Naidu. He started playing Test
matches at the age of 37 years and continued playing
cricket till the age of 68 years. He was born on 31 Oct.,
1895 in Nagpur and died on 14thNov., 1967 in Indore. He
was the first Indian cricketer to be awarded Padma
Bhushan in 1956. C.K. Naidu was selected Cricketer of
the Year in 1933.
