Ajaygarh, situated in Panna dist. of M.P.
was the capital of the Princely state of Ajaygarh during
the British Rule. The state of Ajaygarh was established
in 1765 by Guman Singh, the grandson-of the Bundela
Rajput Jaitpur Maharaja Kirat Singh, a descendant of Veer
Maharaja Chhatrasal (1649-1731) of the Bundelkhand
state. According to ancient myth, Ajaygarh was settled
by Raja Ajaypal, the father of Dasaratha. It remained the
capital of Guman Singh from 1765 to 1792.
