The first news paper of Madhya Pradesh
was ‘Gwalior Gazette ‘. Munshi Lakshmandas was its editor.
This urdu newspaper was started from Gwalior in 1840.
Its name was changed to Madhya Bharat in 1950 and
‘Madhya Pradesh Sandesh’ in 1956. The first newspaper
of India was Bengal Gazette. It was started in 1780 in
Kolkata. Its editor was James Augustum Hickkey.
