Dr. Hari Singh Gour University is the first
university of M.P. founded by Dr. Hari Singh Gour before
independence in 1946 in Sagar. Muktibodh Srajanpeeth is
also founded in the memory of Gajanan Madhav
Muktibodh in this University. This University is the only
State Govt. University. It got the status of Central
University in 2008.
