Tons river is also known as Tamsa
river. It originated from the Tamsa Kund reservoir
(Jhuleri, Kaimur hills, dist. Satna). It flows north-
east towards the Diwa Plateau in Satna dist. It joins
the Ganga River at Sirsa near Allahabad. Belan,
Bihar, Babai, Sonker, Belaj, Mahan, Satna, Sillar are
its tributaries. Flowing through Satna, the Tons river
enters in Rewa district. The total length of Tons river
is about 320 km and it flows about 238 km in Madhya Pradesh.
