Kayatha, a village in Ujjain dist., located
on the bank of the river “Choti Sindh” is a major site of
Chalcolithic Age. Kayatha was discovered in the Year
1964 by V.S. Vakankar. Other places of Chalcolithis Culture
in MP are Navadatoli (Khargone-W.Nimar), Maheshwar
(Khargone), Eran (Sagar), Avra (Mandsaur), etc.’ The
credit of excavation done here goes to H.D. Sankalia.
