a. Normal Black Soil : Sprawling over 53 %
(approx 162 lakh hactres) of the total reporting
area of M.P. mainly includes Malwa and Nimar
region.
b. Shallow Black Soil : It covers about 7.5 % land
area (27 lakh hectare) which includes
Chhindwara, Seoni, Betul and some part of Nimar.
This is smooth Loamy Soil and is suitable for the
cultivation of jowar, rice, wheat gram and cotton.
c. Deep Black Soil : It spreads over 0.5 % of
Narmada Valley, Satpura, Southern Malwa
region. (1.4 lakh hectare).
