Under the Thakkar Bapa National Award, a
cash prize of Rs 2 lakh is awarded. M.P. govt. introduced
the Thakkar Baba National Award in the Year 2008 for full
love and affection towards the poor and backward people
of the tribal community. Thakkar Bapa was born on 29th
Nov., 1869 at Bhavnagar in Kathiawar. His real name was
Amritlal Vithaldas Thakkar.
