The arid land of M.P. is the result of
Gully Erosion. On the banks of the big pits created
by the Chambal River of M.P. and the tributaries of
the Chambal, a broad belt has turned into a very
deep pit. On the basis of the agricultural reports of
the past years, 6.5 lakh acres of valuable agricultural
land in these ravines changing is the aberrant form
of Gully erosion. Bhind and Morena districts of M.P.
are the most affected by Gully erosion.
