There is a mound called Vaishya Tekri,
located 3 miles in the north-east direction of Ujjain. The
remains of a huge stupa which was built by Vaishya
daughter Sehidhita during the reign of Ashoka were
found in the excavation of this mound. Vaishya Tekri is
an older stupa than Sanchi. It is one of the four Buddhist
shrines.
Lord Buddha’s clothes and apostles are kept in it. It was
renovated by Devi Vaishya. the wife of Emperor Ashoka.
